| Ivory Coast: Yaya TOURE in Barcelona |
Arsenal's defender Kolo TOURE's 24-year-old kid brother Yaya TOURE is ready to play for FC Barcelona. The Spanish club rulers are said to have agreed terms with both TOURE's French club Monaco and agent Dimitri SELLUYK. Barca president Juan LAPORTA said three days ago that "TOURE's deal could be concluded very soon."
The young Ivorian who is ranked as one of the most promising defensive midfielders in Europe was expected to cut short his holidays in his country and travel to Barcelona last week-end for medical test at the Nou Camp, and to finalise the details of his move from Monaco. According to some reports personal terms have already been struck, with TOURE agreeing a four-year contract with Barcelona worth US$2.8 million-a-season.
TOURE told Barca TV how much playing for Barcelona "is a great opportunity" for him, "because Barca are one of the best teams in the world. It is a big step forward for me to come to Barcelona. They play great football in the Spanish league..."
