GEREMI: almost right for Newcastle
Newcastle coach Sam ALLARDYCE confirmed yesterday Monday 2 July how much he is still hoping to have Cameroonian Geremi NJITAP in his squad next season.
"Big Sam", who got in touch with Chelsea, was hoping yesterday to clinch the deal rapidly before other clubs enter the lists. Geremi, who can play at right-back or anywhere in the midfield has been allowed by Chelsea to discuss the matter with Newcastle, and he is now being chased by a number of Premier League clubs. By the way ALLARDYCE said last week: "Geremi is something we would like to pursue, but many other clubs in the Premier League will be doing exactly the same thing as Newcastle." And he added: "Hopefully we can persuade him - if we get the opportunity - to join this club and not the others who will be chasing him as well as us."
