Yesterday Tuesday 3 July Germi sealed at last a three-year deal with the Magpies. Former Bolton Wanderers' manager Sam ALLARDYCE, who had not loosened his grip on, has sucessfully taken advantage over other clubs which were chasing the Cameroonian defender.
28-year-old Geremi has been knocking about the football world. He started his career in Paraguay. After a short stay in Turkey Spanish del BOSQUE convinced him to sign a contract with Spanish Real Madrid where he spent three years. After Spain he discovered English Premier League where he played for Middlesborough, scoring 7 goals during the 33 games he played. In 2003 he concluded a deal with Chelsea then coached by Italian Claudio RANIERI. During RANIERI's era Geremi used to play regularly, but became only a joker when Jose MOURINHO replaced the Italian as Chelsea's manager.
Geremi won important trophies with the Cameroon Indomitable Lions: gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia, 2000 and 2002 African Cup of Nations.
