| Nigeria: second victory for the Flying Eagles |
After beating Scotland 2-0 yesterday the Flying Eagles of Nigeria are already qualified in Group F for the second leg of the Under-20 World Cup in Canada.
Ezekiel BALA scored both goals. If Nigeria goalkeeper Thomas OLUFEMI did well to thwart the Scottish attackers's attempts, his opponent counterpart Andrew McNEIL succeeded in averting disaster for his team with a couple of fine saves to deny Nigerian Brown IDEYE. The young Nigerians had already had a good start in their first match when they defeated Costa Rica 1-0 on Sunday, after Brown IDEYE who plays for Nigerian club Ocean Boys headed the ball past Costa Rican goalkeeper Alfonso QUESADA.
Nigeria substitute goalkeeper OLUFEMI replaced Moses OCHEJE after the latter got injured at the beginning of the second half of the first match when he collided with teammate SURAJ SODIQ while diving for a save. He had a bleeding nose and had to be taken off on a stretcher. OCHEJE left the stadium 25 minutes later in an ambulance.
