GEREMI, a new captain for Newcastle
Since his arrival to Newcastle from Chelsea a few weeks ago, Cameroon 'Indomitable Lion' Geremi NJITAP has cleary impressed his manager Sam ALLARDYCE. The coach has been so impressed that he decided to propose him the captaincy of the squad, and the international midfielder accepted the challenge.
The newly appointed captain officially carried the armband for the first time for the Premier League match of Newcastle on Saturday 18 August against Aston Villa at St James's Park. "I am under pressure because it is 50 years since a Newcastle captain lifted a major trophy. But I think we will challenge this season and cause a few surprises.", said Geremi to BBC.
