The former 33-year-old defender of the Super Eagles Taribo WEST signed Iranian Premier Ligue club Paykan on a one-year contract a few days ago, after passing a satisfactory medical. Since he has been out of action for over a year, he confessed that it was a relief for him to pass this medical. “What gives me the most pleasure is coming through the medical,” he said. He is expected to earn around US$250,000 for the period.
In the football galaxy Taribo WEST is seen as a real globe-trotter: he began his foreign career with French club Auxerre under Guy ROUX’s era, before playing later on successively for Inter Milan, AC Milan, Derby County, Kaiserslautern, Partizan Belgrade and Plymouth Argyle. He played in the 1998 World Cup in France with the Super Eagles.
