| OUGANDA: Reprieve for the Ugandan national team. |
Thanks to a “patriotic gesture” of a ugandan businessman who has been doing this for the second time and who this time put a some of 30.000$ to the disposal of the rulers of the national Football Federation, Uganda football team, the “Uganda Cranes” will be able to travel to Niamey next week-end to play the 2d qualifying match for ACN 2008 against Niger’s national team.
Without this money it seems obvious that the “Uganda Cranes” who defeated Lesotho in Kampala (3-0) on the 1st qualifying match played in Kampala on september 2006 would not have been able to go to Niger since the Uganda Football Federation claims lack of money. It would for sure have meant general disqualification of Uganda, what would have been a really bad news for Uganda who was not long ago one of the most important football nations in Africa.
