| GHANA: Victory for the “Black Stars”. |
The “Blacks Stars” of Ghana defeated Japon 1-0 in Yokohama; about 50,000 Japanese fans attended the play, the first among 2 friendly matches the Ghanaians will be playing during a mini tour which will lead them also to Seoul next sunday oct. 8 to meet South Korea national team. The “Black Stars” opened score thanks to Haminu DRAMANI who converted into goal a brilliant pass from Razak PIMPONG. The two players were substitutes at the beginning of the match.
We have to remind that the French Claude LEROY, former coach of the “Indomitable Lions” (Cameroon), the “Lions de la Teranga” (Sénégal) and the “Simbas” ‘Democaric Republic of Congo) successively has been the new coach of Ghana only for less than 2 weeks. He was recently selected by the rulers of Ghana Football Federation from a list of 54 candidates to fill the shoes of the Serbian Radomir DJUKOVIC who resigned from duty for medical reason after performing rather well with the “Black Stars” during the World Cup in Germany.
