| Friendly match between South Africa and Egypt to be played in London. |
According to the “Star” of Johannesburg quoting Raymand HACK, the boss of the South African Football Federation Association the national football teams of Egypt and South Africa will play a friendly match in London on november 15. “It’s a decision we took based on what happened in our last match against Congo when we attracted about 6 000 fans. We can do better in London” said HACK. The match opposing the “Bafana Bafana” of South Africa to the “Red Devils” of Congo played last weekend counts for the 2nd qualifying match to the African Cup of Nations 2008.
HACK’s statement may well give arguments to people who are against the organisation of the 2010 Football World Cup in South Africa and who express concerns over tickets sales for that competition. Experience proved in the past that international football competitions organised in South Africa don’t attract big attendance like during the 1996 African Cup of Nations.
