KANU will not join the « Mamelodi Sundowns ».

The 30 years old “Super Eagles” midfielder NWANKO KANU will not leave England Premiership club “Portsmouth” to join south-african “Mamelodi Sundowns”. After reports saying that the Nigerian had talks with “Sundowns” officials last weekend in South Africa during the transit of the nigerian national team on its way to Lesotho to play the 2nd qualifying match to the African Cup of Nations 2008, “Portsmouth” manager Harry REDKNAPP said clearly that he will not let KANO go to South Africa. “He has signed for a year and done really well for us, scoring 5 goals and really working hard. If he continues to do well and play like he has we could extend his deal.”, said REDKNAPP.
