Congo sacks French coach TOSI
The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT)has fired French Noel TOSI (47)coach of the Red Devils, the national team and replaced him by his predecessor, Congolese Gaston TCHANGANA.
The decision follows Congo's 0-0 draw in their last African Nations Cup qualifier at home to Zambia last month. Congo stands now 2 points behind Group 11 leaders, the Bafana Bafana, despite a bright start to their qualifying campaign.
According to YOULOU BAKITH, FECOFOOT secretary general, TOSI has been sacked because he has given an unauthorised interview over his salary conditions. TOSI has been also accused of spending too much time in his home country and refusing to collaborate with the members of the technical staff of the Red Devils. But possibly the sacking may have something to do with an altercation between TOSI and Congo Sports minister Marcel MBANI. At half time of the match against the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Brazzaville MBANI sought to enter Red Devils' dressing room to admonish players.
TOSI was appointed coach last July on a two-year contract.
